The World Circular Economy Forum 2023 (WCEF) is set to take place in Finland between 30 May and 2 June. The foremost international forum on the circular economy will bring together in Helsinki the most forward-thinking innovators, businesses, and organisations in the sector.
Titled Circular Solutions for Nature and Economy, this edition will highlight the value of nature within the circular paradigm, demonstrating how nature-based solutions can be the protagonists in the transition toward a regenerative and resilient economy, helping tackle some of the ongoing global crises.
The themes of the World Circular Economy Forum 2023
After the success of last year’s edition in Rwanda, the World Circular Economy Forum 2023 will be hosted at the Messukeskus events centre in the heart of Helsinki and will provide a unique opportunity to discuss the new and old challenges that animate the circular transition.
We already know that the circular economy is a winning model, but the world needs examples. This is why the WCEF2023 calendar is stacked with events that focus on “how”, particularly by asking businesses, investors, and young startups to identify the potential and possible bottlenecks of the most innovative circular solutions. Furthermore, the forum will facilitate the exchange of expertise and foster a greater understanding of how the circular economy allows us to simultaneously tackle some of the complex causes that lie at the root of the excessive consumption of resources, pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss.
The event will explore circular solutions for nature and the economy, covering a variety of subjects: finance, accounting and circularity metrics, skills, regenerative agriculture and forestry, materials and energy, mining, trade, strategies and action plans, fashion and textiles, food, construction and the built environment, plastics and packaging, electronics, and hydrogen.
The third and fourth days are dedicated to the panels organised by the event’s partners, which can take place anywhere in the world as well as online.
To ensure participation in the event can be as wide as possible, WCEF2023 will be streamed live online, free and open to everyone, whereas in-person attendance is invite-only.
