New York City is gearing up to host Climate Week NYC 2024, one of the world’s most important events dedicated to the fight against climate change. From September 22 to 29, Climate Week NYC 2024 will bring together political leaders, visionary entrepreneurs, academics, industry experts, and activists from all over the globe. The Big Apple will transform into a global stage where innovative ideas are exchanged, tangible solutions are presented, and the transition towards a sustainable future is accelerated.
Organised by the Climate Group in collaboration with the United Nations and the City of New York, the week will be an intense marathon of events, conferences, and workshops. This year’s theme is It’s time. The focus of Climate Week will be on topics such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, clean energy, sustainable agriculture, green finance, and biodiversity protection.
The program
In this edition, Climate Week NYC will extend far beyond the borders of New York, reaching a global audience through a rich offering of digital events and live streaming. Over 600 initiatives, including conferences, workshops, and debates, will be available online, allowing anyone, anywhere in the world, to actively participate in the discussion and help shape the future of the planet.
The most important moment of the week, as highlighted by the organisers, will be the opening ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, September 22. On September 23 and 24, the Climate Group will host The Hub Live, a series of sessions involving more than 1,000 leaders. This year, the Climate Week NYC 2024 programme will particularly focus on harnessing the Fourth Industrial Revolution to create a low-emission circular economy, accelerate the transition to a clean energy system and sustainable mobility, protect biodiversity, and ensure healthy food systems. Additionally, discussions will address how to mobilise the necessary financing to support this ecological transition.
Italy at the Nest Climate Campus
During Climate Week, the Nest Climate Campus will also take place. The initiative is organised by NXT Events Media Group and will be held in New York at the Javits Center, from 24 to 26 September 2024. The Nest Climate Campus is America's leading platform for raising awareness about climate change and environmental sustainability. Italy will also participate in the event with an exhibition space organised by Agenzia ICE (Italian Trade & Investment Agency), in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in New York. Renewable Matter will be present to moderate some of the panel meetings on circular economy, energy, mobility and innovation.
