“Live better” is the theme of Smart City Expo World Congress 2024. The event will bring together more than 1,000 exhibitors, 600 speakers and international experts. They will share cutting-edge experiences and discoveries in urban transformation within a conference program structured around eight main tracks: Enabling Technologies, Energy and Environment, Mobility, Governance, Liveability and Inclusion, Economy, Infrastructure and Buildings, and Safety and Security.
The fair will be held in Barcelona, from the 5th to the 7th of November, in Halls 2 and 3 of the Fira venue on Gran Via. After the record attendance in the 2023 edition, this year's fair will cover an area 30% bigger.

“In this edition we aim at setting a common goal for urban innovation worldwide: to improve well-being, create opportunity and foster a better relationship with our planet and our communities,” explains Ugo Valenti - the event director - in a press release issued by the organization. “If we want to be better off, we need to rethink the way we live, leveraging technology, innovation and collaboration.”
Apart from being media partner of Smart City Expo World Congress, Renewable Matter will be present with Lucrezia Lenardon, digital editor and author. She will moderate The Tech Answers Making Cities Go Green panel discussion: a meeting to analyse the latest technological advances that are revolutionizing the lives of citizens. The appointment is for Wednesday November the 6th, from 11:40am to 12:25pm.
What's new at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2024
The focus of this edition will be on new technologies and startups. That is why the event will launch the Innovation Playground, a meeting space for key players in the global innovation ecosystem, including startups, investors, governments, companies and research centres. Within the SCEWC, the third edition of the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit will also be held. This event, organized by Barcelona Activa, will focus on scientific technology entrepreneurship and university spin-offs.
Concurrently, several other initiatives will be held in the SCEWC venues. Among them: the third edition of Tomorrow Mobility, the event jointly organized by Fira de Barcelona and EIT Urban Mobility with the aim of developing a new paradigm of sustainable urban mobility, the second edition of Tomorrow Building, focused on innovative building, and the second edition of Tomorrow Blue Economy, aimed at using the full potential of ocean resources for sustainable economic growth.
