Ecomondo, the trade fair dedicated to innovation, technology and European best practices at the centre of the green transition and economic growth, returns to Rimini (Italy) for its 27th edition. The leading event in Europe and the Mediterranean basin for the green and circular economy, in line with the objectives of the European Green Deal, will be held from 5 to 8 November at the Fiera di Rimini.

This year, one of the main novelties will be the focus on innovation and technology for the prevention and mitigation of climate change through the use of Big Data and artificial intelligence (AI).

Themes and pavilions at Ecomondo 2024

Among the main themes that will guide the exhibition spaces and the rich programme of meetings planned at Ecomondo is the use of Big Data, AI and predictive systems for ecological transition and the management of the effects of climate change. But also the new space economy for environmental surveillance and earth observation, agriculture 4.0 for maximising yields and protecting crops, and urban mining, for recovering valuable and critical materials from WEEE.

This year, two new temporary halls will be added to the exhibition area, reaching a total of 137,000 square metres. Over 800 exhibitors will be organised into thematic sectors, such as the Textile District, the Paper District and the Blue Economy area. In addition,providing space for young entrepreneurs, will be the Innovation District, which will host 30 start-ups.

Moreover, this year the event will host the States General of the Green Economy, organised by the Foundation for Sustainable Development and promoted by the National Council for the Green Economy, in collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security.

Ecomondo 2024, an increasingly international exhibition

With a growing focus on internationalisation, the new edition of Ecomondo will see the participation of delegations from 120 countries and 60 international sector associations. Collaborations have also been set up with more than 100 foreign trade magazines, consolidating the event as a/place to bring together the best ‘Made in Europe’ practices of and the growing global demand for solutions for the ecological transition. Renwable Matter will be present within the Innovatec exhibition space.
