With over 1,500 installations and collaborations with more than 120 private clients and approximately 50 public bodies, Re-Cig is the only company in Italy to have a plant and equipment authorised for this kind of activity, as well as an approved European patent.

The startup has created a system that transforms used cigarette filters into cellulose acetate to produce everyday objects such as glasses frames and umbrella handles. In just one year of operations, Re-Cig has given new life to 2 million cigarette stubs, a major milestone considering that this type of waste makes up 40% of waste in the Mediterranean Sea.
