The editorial staff of Renewable Matter is pleased to announce the launch, on Thursday 5 September, of the first issue of The Water Observer, the paper's new thematic newsletter dedicated exclusively to the world of water. Updates from current economic affairs will continue instead through our regular newsletter, RenewableLetter.

Why launch The Water Observer? The answer lies in the growing awareness that freshwater, despite its vital importance, remains a scarce resource, poorly distributed, and too often absent from the media. Yet it is precisely through the forms of water – whether it is floods, droughts, melting glaciers, or rising sea levels – that people feel the effects of climate change more urgently. These phenomena are warning signs that we cannot afford to ignore.

The Water Observer was created to fill this information gap. Through this new thematic channel, Renewable Matter wants to offer its readers a platform dedicated not only to collecting and sharing the latest news, but also to disseminating data, analysis, and concrete solutions. We want to offer you an observatory to monitor the changes taking place and to delve into the crucial role that industry, government policies, and technological innovations are playing in the sustainable management of water resources.

For the first issue, we started big, covering the World Water Week in Stockholm, the leading annual global conference focused on water issues. Complementing each edition of The Water Observer – published every two weeks – you will also find an international press review section, with a selection of articles, studies, and insights from the most authoritative sources.

We invite you to subscribe through this form and follow us on this new journey, which aims not only to inform, but also to inspire positive change. Because water is not just a resource: it is life, it is economy, it is future. Enjoy your reading and welcome to The Water Observer!
