Future-Proof Incubators: Between Work and Innovation

Incubators and business accelerators have their origins in the second half of the twentieth century, when they were created to provide physical or virtual spaces for start-ups to flourish in their initial stages. The US National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) employs the following parameters to define incubators: managerial assistance, access to financing and technical support services.

According to a recent global study, incubators and accelerators that are connected to universities alone created over 70,000 jobs between 2017 and 2018, generating a revenue of $3.2 billion and receiving over $4.7 billion in investments.
